Saudi Arabia to Participate in 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, taking place from July 14 to 23 in New York City. The forum brings together member states to assess global progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the 2030 Agenda.
The Saudi delegation will be headed by Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim and includes representatives from nine key government entities: the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Madinah Region Development Authority, the National Center for Wildlife, and the Quality of Life Program.
Delegation members will deliver official statements on behalf of the Kingdom throughout the forum. Minister Alibrahim will present the Kingdom’s address during the ministerial segment, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s most significant initiatives and progress toward achieving the SDGs, particularly through the framework of Vision 2030.
On the sidelines of the forum, the minister is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other member states and with representatives of international organizations. These discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation and accelerating collective progress on the SDGs.
Saudi Arabia’s participation underscores its strong commitment to aligning Vision 2030 with the global sustainable development agenda. The Kingdom submitted its Voluntary Local Review reports last year and previously presented Voluntary National Reviews at the High-Level Political Forum in 2018 and 2023, outlining notable achievements and strategies in various aspects of sustainable development.
